October NOVA’ exhibition at Aoife’s Gallery, 33 The Mall, Waterford, as part of the Imagine Festival, the exhibition combines work by locally based painters, sculptors and photographers. The contributing artists are: Denise McAuliffe, Magdalena Karol, Milia Tsaoussis-Maddock, Kevin O’Keeffe, Róisín Kinsella, Darragh Lyons, Rosemary Dulson, Alistair Duckett, Pat McArdle, Conor Rush and Christine O’Brien Shanahan. Included a live electronic ambient music performance by miXile (Michael Shanahan) who was artist in residence at the Kolonia Artystów, Gdansk. www.mixile.com

May 2012 To mark EU Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations Garter Lane took ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’ as the theme for their Bealtaine open submission group exhibition. ‘Nine Nests’ was inspired by the nine nests in which shaman souls hatch in the ‘tree that stands between day and night’ – the transference of knowledge, wisdom and understanding across generations.
